Does Argan Oil really work ?

Argan Oil seems to be everywhere, it’s in shampoo, it’s in body lotion, it’s in soap & although we don’t do it much here YET, you can also eat it!
So what it is? &
Where does it come from? &
Does it do what it says on the “tin”?
Argan Oil comes from the seeds of the Argan Tree which grows in Morocco, Tunisia & Algeria.
The first good thing to say about Argan Oil is that it’s production is a major enterprise for Moroccan women’s co-operatives & the income they derive from it has had a major empowering effect on local women, which in itself is a good reason to buy Argan Oil products!

Medical studies in 2013 looking at it’s effects on the skin showed that it significantly improved the moisture content & elasticity of the skin.
A group of 30 post menopausal women applied 10 drops of Argan Oil to one arm for a month & used nothing on the other. Assessment of the skin 2 months later showed that the treated skin had a much improved water content compared to the untreated skin.
Taking the oil orally has also been the subject of medical studies and the oil has been shown to reduce cholesterol and improve arthritis.
So, YES, it appears that, Argan Oil does do exactly what it says on the tin!!
The Argan Oil products as seen in these images are available in our shop.
